After
returning from Melbourne last week, I found my 4-year-old Toshiba fridge in my
Serai Suajana apartment not refrigerating at all. I approached a fridge dealer
in SS2 for help; unfortunately he couldn’t give me any priority. Out of
anxiousness, I surfed the net and came across this KawanU site.

It was
impressive, except the English. One of its leaders read: Trusted,
Realiable & Reputation, followed by “You can try our
service, and we always strive to give our best service & solution. Our
reputation on satisfied customer, which they willing to always introduce their
friends & relative to us.”
It was
obviously cheeena English, but never mind; I gave the number a call.
Two men duly
appeared. “Oh, I see the problem! We
have to replace the heater. We have to
cart it to our workshop. The heater would cost 399 and workmanship 80. A
deposit of 100 is payable.”
They were
taking my fridge and yet I had to pay a deposit of 100? Moreover, why should
they take the heavy fridge just to replace an element?
Again, never
mind lah, since this is what
Malaysian tradies do in the country. What choice do I have?
A day later,
the office called up. “Water has gone into your sensor; it will cost 121.”
Again, what to do?
“We will
deliver the fridge on Saturday morning,” the chap over the phone promised.
Came
Saturday, no call whatsoever from KawanU. I tried at least 20 times to reach
the mobile number that was given. I could only hear the standard “leave a
message” voice mail.
I finally
got through to them on Monday morning.
“Oh, sorry;
someone passed away. We had no handphone to contact anyone.”
That’s the
Malaysian way of doing “asset control”, I suppose. Never mind lah, since they had an unforeseen situation.
The fridge
was finally delivered. On closer scrutiny, I found the freezer door could not
close properly. Again never mind lah,
since it is not a new fridge.
We went to
the market to pick up fresh supplies – fish, meat, etc.
After a
couple of hours, my wife noticed that the fish and meat were not freezing.
It WAS not
working.
We called
KawanU.
“We will
check it out and come back to you in the afternoon.” This was the last time I
heard from them.
Fish and
meat could not wait; we went straight to pick up a new fridge.
So much for
the type of reliable service KawanU is bragging about!
But I just
cannot understand why Malaysia-made products do not last. I have a Maytag
fridge in Melbourne. It has been with us for donkey years. I had to repair the
thermostat once, but the repairman was very professional. He didn’t have to
cart the fridge back. I remember it cost only A$150 for the whole job! It is
still running strong now.
Don’t count
on KawanU to repair your stuff! It is better to go to a dealer you know!

Come back my fridge sound like some cheap fridge so loud noise. My panasonic used to have no sound. I suspect they take out my original parts n replace with cheap parts. Unethical company. The below is the technique that he used to cheat
"He will first tell you the spare part replacement will cost you RM400++ and service fee RM100. and He needs to bring back the machine to replace the part and a deposit of RM100 is required. A day later, he will call up and tell you the Sensor is also required to be replaced. and it will cost RM100++"
The incident happened about a week ago, I called his company (contact number obtained from Internet) to repair the Spinning problem of my Washing Machine. It ended up the Motherboard of the machine became non functional after the repaired.
I was unhappy and immediately filed a complaint to him, he gave me a lot of reasons and excuses. Trying to defend himself and pushing his responsibility away. He told me to pay another RM200++ to get the Motherboard issue fixed. I was thinking " What's the point of spending RM700++ to repair an old machine and he cannot guarantee the problem can be fixed permanently."
I talked to his man who was at my place checking on the problem. His man advised me not to let him continue to repair the machine and it will not solved the issue, instead more issues will arise. He told me that this has happened to many of his innocent clients.
Never never use his service. He will not solve your problem. Instead he will give you more problems.
My Hitachi fridge was taken back and repaired for not cooling last week.. It was sent back last Thursday... Still not cold. . So I call Ah Ming a few times befire he answered my call. . ReplyDeleteOut of the many many times I called, she never allowed me to speak to Meng, the owner. Finally after waiting for almost FOUR MONTHS, by some miracle, the company accountant answered my call instead of that girl. I told her my issue and I told her that I have reported this company to NCCC and PPM. I also told her that I will be at their doorstep soon to collect my machine wether it is fixed or not.
Not even an hour after I spoke to the accountant, Meng miraculously called me!! He told my some fairy tales about how the spare part is not available for another week. I asked him if he was too big to speak to his complaining customers, since his receptionist refused to pass my call? That's when he told me that he had no choice except to hire a d*mb girl (his word not mine) to answer the calls because he had nobody else. Four days later, I got my washing machine back.
I suspect this Meng is just sleeping most of the time.

ReplyDeleteMy Electrolux Dryer had problems (a sponge came out) and I was looking for someone to repair my dryer and found this contact on google (Pusat Perkhidmatan Elektrik KAWAN).
I called and spoke to a man (so called repair person) and told him about my dryer problem. He quoted me approximately RM 200 (inspection fee RM 40 and to replace the sponge would cost RM 130) and told me he MUST bring the said Dryer back to the shop for inspection and repair.
On the day when he arranged two of his staff to collect the said Dryer, his staff mentioned that the dryer roller might be faulty (which could be what’s causing the sponge of the dryer to came out). His staff mentioned someone from the shop will call me after inspection and let me know what are the other problems and the cost to repair before they proceed (which i agreed to it). So they took my Dryer back and a deposit of RM 100.
However, two days later, the man I spoke to (so called repair person) called me and told me that my dryer is almost done where they changed/fixed another two problems found in my dryer which is the roller and the capacitor and the all in cost is RM 645 (including labour fee).
I was shocked! I asked him why did he changed/fixed those new found problems before letting me know and he started to get mad at me. I told him with the cost he is charging me to fix my dryer, I might as well get a new dryer and told him that he can keep my ‘fixed’ dryer. As soon as I mentioned that, he became aggressive (like a gangster), raised his voice at me, scolded me with all sorts of nonsense and blamed me for something that I don’t even understand.
What surprised me further was, after all the shouting, he told me he hasn’t fixed the other found problems (which is the roller and the capacitor) and said he will send the dryer back to me and demand that I pay the sponge I requested and agreed to change. How dishonest?! If I didn’t said to him to keep the dryer and don’t have to send it back to me, he will probably just fixed it, send it back to me, pretend nothing happen and get business out of his dishonesty.
When they finally sent my dryer back, I settled the balance of RM 119 which is the cost to change the dryer sponge. The initial deposit of RM 100 I’ve paid became the repair fee .
I rarely write reviews. Im writing and sharing my bad experience because I do not want anyone else to go through what i went through. I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND PUSAT PERKHIDMATAN ELEKTRIK KAWAN.

I'm one of the victim from this company as well. And they do have several different type of mobile phone number, and they have took my refrigerator and said leaking due to need to do service and they need 3 days to do it.
May 16, 2020 - They will charged for a RM60 checkup fee if client didn't plan to let them service. So they came to check and said the refrigerator just need to do service and no parts was spoilt, and the charges will be RM380. So asked me to decide want to service or not. So I have agreed on the service and get them to come another day to take the refrigerator due to still have lots of foods inside. Then I do asked them is there any extra charges on the pick up fee and they said no. May 19, 2020 - Called them to come to pick up. and according to the 016-9778863 - name Meng, they will do a full service by washing the whole refrigerator inside and service it. When their people came, they took out all the parts and just took the refrigerator, so I asked why their technician took out without taking back all the parts to clean it as Meng said, then Meng replied if want to clean inside and service need to paid full fee which is 300++ then I told him they charged me for a RM380, so should means include all the cleaning inside as well right? Then the guy said miscommunication among his workman and I, the money I agreed earlier on was include the pick up fee of RM80. So I start to questioned them how come when I asked and their people said is all included...Then the guy said he will talk to his boss and give me a discount.
May 21, 2020 - 016-9778863 whatsapp me at 8:21AM and asked me to pay them RM180 balance for the service fee. So I asked them is my refrigerator done and can send me back by the day. Then they said ok. So they sent me back my refrigerator and asked for the balance with the receipt from PUSAT PERKHIDMATAN ELEKTRIK KAWAN (002198364-P) located at the same address with WENG SOON ELECTRICAL SERVICE CENTRE, then without install back all the inner accessories parts and leave. Then after they leave only my mom saw how come the refrigerator was bump and with a long scratch on the side. So I immediately snap pic and sent to Meng via Whatsapp and try to call him and he didn't pick up. So I call the phone number from the receipt also did not pick up and cut my line. I do leave them a message said that if they ignore me without a reason, I will go and report police and kpdnhep (https://e-aduan.kpdnhep.gov.my/) for this scam case.
I got conned too!! They first repair the fridge on 29 April 2020. Until now my fridge is still with them after few trips back & forth from my house to their shop. They are unreliable. Please don't hire them. I have logged report to tribunal. Hopefully the authorities can take legal action on them

Still left another unit at his shop for repair and they don't even care to update the status. Call and texted them with no reply or answer. Worst.... The best is the person in charge named by Meng is One of the most terrible attitudes. Damn lousy and it's totally different from what they promoted them self in their website. Their charges are expensive. I strongly not recommend this shop service. It's better to report them to tribunal. Let them close down the business and to avoid some others victims been trap again....Damn piss off...!

ReplyDeleteI've been cheated by this so called 17 years of fridge expert.They took back the fridge and not even fixed and sent back, few days later the defrost issue happens again and they charged me for RM468. I was going to make a call to complain but after reading the comments, I think it's more wisely to go for others, it could save me more time and money i guess. After gone through all the comments, I think we should post it on social media to let more ppl know the existence of this shameless cheater

Saya juga sangat risau dengan perangai samseng Ah Ming dan takut dengan dendam yang akan datang akibat parah sekiranya saya tidak mendapat perlindungan daripada pihak berkuasa. Saya telah ditipu dengan jumlah wang RM100 sebagai deposit dan sebiji mesin pengering baju berjenama Electrolux yang berharga RM2400. Saya tidak berani hendak tuntut balik mesin pengering saya kerana saya tidak mahu mengalami kerugian yang berlanjutan sampai tidak berbatas. Oleh itu sebab saya terpaksa merujuk perkara saya kepada pihak berkuasa untuk tindakan selanjutnya untuk melindungi keselamatan saya sendiri.
Syarikat yang membuat penipuan adalah Pusat Perkhimatan Elektrik Kawan dan Weng Soon Electrical Service Centre yang beralamat di No. 23, Jalan 10/125D, Taman Desa Petaling, 57100 Kuala Lumpur dengan resit dilampirkan. Telefon No : 016-2802046
Tempat berlaku adalah di Nadi Bangsar, Jalan Tandok, 59100 Bangsar Kuala Lumpur ingin membuat laporan berkenaan kes penipuan servis memperbaiki barang elektrik saya yang berjenama Electrolux Dryer model EDC57550W yang berjumlah harga RM2400. Jumlah wang yang tertipu adalah berjumlah RM100 sebagai wang deposit. Jumlah Kerugian adalah RM2500.
Kes penipuan berlaku pada tarikh 27hb Augus 2021 jam 10am di Kondominium Nadi Bangsar seperti di alamat atas.
Wakil syarikat yang melakukan penipuan adalah seorang lelaki yang bernama Ah Ming dengan nombor telepfon bimbit 016- 9778863.
Kronologi kes penipuan berlaku adalah seperti berikut :
Masalah berlaku mesin pengering saya boleh hidup tetapi tidak dapat berputar pada pada 8 Julai 2021. Oleh kerana masa itu adalah masa FMCO, authorized repairer dari Electrolux berkata mereka masih belum dapat surat MITI dan tidak dapat membuat repair untuk saya.
Saya cuba google maklumat daripada laman web dan menghubungi wakil syarikat yang bernama Ah Meng dengan telefon bimbit 016-9778863. Dia memberitahu saya bahawa mereka dapat memperbaiki mesin pengering saya. Saya pun bersetuju dan memberi alamat rumah saya supaya dia dapat datang untuk buat pemeriksaan dahulu di rumah saya.
Pada tarikh 27hb Augus 2021 jam 10am pagi, dua pekerja syarikat beliau dengan datang ke rumah saya untuk membuat pemeriksaan mesin pekering saya. Saya pun hairan kenapa pekerja dia tidak membawa apa-apa barang equipment untuk membuat diagnosis mesin pengering saya. Dia hanya buka casing dryer saya dan terus berkata belt dryer tidak rosak tetapi (Dryer Shaft) sudah rosak. Saya pun bertanya kenapa dia sekaligus tengok saja sudah tahu dryer shaft rosak tanpa guna equipment untuk pemeriksaan. Dia bercakap memang biasa macam itu. Harga RM292 untuk (dryer shaft) dan labour charge RM100. Dia perlu bawa mesin pengering ke bengkel untuk buat tukaran. Sekiranya saya tidak mahu saya kena bayar RM80 untuk kerja pemeriksaan. Kalau nak repair kena bayar deposit RM100.

ReplyDeletePada waktu senja 2 September, wakil syarikat Ah Ming telefon memberitahu saya mesin sudah siap repair tetapi terdapat masalah lain iaitu Pulley dryer sudah bengkok kena tukar juga. Saya pun terpukau seketika itu dan cakap boleh tetapi saya meminta tunjukkan gambar pulley rosak. Tetapi beliau enggan berbuat sedemikian dengan alasan pekerjanya sibuk. Dan hanya berkata barang rosak akan dibagikan semasa dia hantar balik mesin pengering saya.
Saya terasa sesuatu tidak betul dan saya pun terus google review syarikat beliau. Dengan terperanjat saya mengetahui bahawa syarikat ini memang menggunakan taktik yang sama untuk memperangkap dan menipu ramai pengguna yang lain. Saya meminta sekali lagi proof of repair.
Pada pagi 3 September 2021 pagi. Oleh kerana situasi yang tegang selepas dia memaki marah saya tidak percaya kepada dia, Ah Ming pun meminta saya bank in dahulu RM490 barulah dia hendak menghantar balik mesin pengering saya. Oleh kerana saya terasa kena berhati-hati selepas membaca review syarikat ini saya meminta sekali lagi proof of repair sebelum saya hendak bank in kepada dia. Beliau masih enggan membuat sedemikian pada hari itu.
Saya bertanya tentang warranty. Dia berkata walaupun ada warranty tetapi kena bayar lagi fee pemeriksaan dan fee spare part lain. Saya meminta proof gambar barang yang repair. Dia terus marah dan maki dan terus putuskan talianya.
Saya belum putus asa dan follow up lagi untuk proof of repair pada hari kemudian tetapi tiada jawapan.
Pada tengah hari 6 September beliau hantar 2 gambar yang menunjukkan spare part yang lama. Gambar yang ditunjukkan itu sangat curiga kerana spare part itu nampak macam barang spare part yang agak kotor dan lama. Saya curiga barang rosak itu memang bukan spare part mesin pengering saya.
Untuk menenangkan hati saya sebelum bayar dia, saya pun bertanya juga kenapa kebanyakan mesin yang mereka yang hantar balik akan rosak selepas 2 bulan diguna daripada review di internet. Macam mana saya boleh mempercayai beliau sekiranya saya bayar dahulu RM490 dan saya memerlukan pengesyoran daripada beliau. Selepas menerima mesej saya beliau terus telefon saya dan memarah maki dan mengugut saya kena bayar RM10 satu hari kalau tidak hantar balik mesin saya.
Saya memang sudah tiada pilihan lain untuk menyelesaikan masalah ini kerana kalau saya tidak bayar RM490 dahulu dia tidak akan hantar balik mesin pengering saya. Saya pulak kena bayar RM10 setiap hari selagi saya tidak ambil balik mesin pengering saya. Kalau simpan satu tahun pulak kena charge RM3650. Saya rasa sesuatu tindakan perlu diambil untuk mencegah kelakuan skim jenayah yang sebegini terus berlaku di Klang Valley untuk menyelamatkan mangsa-mangsa lain di Klang Valley.
Saya terpaksa membuat laporan ini kerana perangai wakil syarikat Ah Meng yang berlagak seperti samseng telah meluahkan kisah sebenar skim beliau semasa marah. Skim perniagaan beliau memang beroperasi dengan cara menipu pelanggan bahawa mesin perlu dibawa ke kedai mereka dahulu, dengan kemudiannya menipu pelanggan dengan macam-macam cerita lain seperti spare part ini dan itu rosak. Beliau mengaku semasa marah bahawa sudah lebih 17 tahun beroperasi sebegini tiada pihak berkuasa yang dapat mengambil tindakan terhadap dia kerana cara penipuannya agak canggih sahaja iaitu dia akan merakam semua perbualan semasa meminta pelanggan tukar barang. Sekiranya pelanggan terpukau dan bersetuju, itulah masa pelanggan dah terperangkap dan tidak dapat lari daripada kerugian yang boleh dielakkan. Yang dahsyat itu ialah dia akan hantar balik rakaman audio itu kepada mangsa sekiranya mangsa itu tersedar sesuatu yang tidak betul dan meminta proof of repair seperti saya. Semata-mata pelanggan yang menimbulkan masalah dan bukan mereka yang menipu pelanggan.
ReplyDeleteDaripada review di laman web skim penipuan akan berlanjut ke fasa ke-2 selepas mesin dihantar balik iaitu mesin akan rosak lagi selepas 1 bulan atau 2 bulan diguna. Warranty yang dikatakan itu membolehkan penipuan berlanjut ke fasa ke-2 iaitu mangsa akan bayar kos pemeriksaan lagi sekali dan juga menukar spare part lain yang mungkin telah dirosakkan oleh mereka semasa repair kali pertama.
Tiada fasa ke-3 dilaporkan di laman web kerana ramai mangsa telah terpaksa membeli mesin yang baru selepas 2 kali repair.
Semoga laporan saya boleh menarik perhatian bakal mangsa dan dapat melindungi semua pihak dari skim penipuan kes repair barang elektrikal oleh Pusat Perkhimatan Elektri Kawan U dan Weng Soon Electrical Service Centre di Klang Valley.

ReplyDeleteI also fall victim into this scam because I just want my washing machine to be repaired asap. I feel very disappointed that this happened. I just want to share the two workers that came and took my washing machine away. I am lucky because my condo requires every contractors to register and their IC is being scanned. I got their full name and IC no. If you see this workers anywhere, just report them immediately. The workers are MUHAMAD AINUDDIN BIN AZIZ (881103-03-6157) and AMIZUL BIN JOHARI (890309-13-5219). Be careful also because they tend to look around the house as if they are observing. I am lucky that I have good security system here. Please do take care and do not be cheated or scammed like me.
I am one of the victims cheated by this scammer/irresponsible so called service provider, KAWANU. They took my washing machine before Hari Raya in 2021 and collected RM 100 deposit. Never sent back until today and no response at all. Saw their website is still active in the internet trying to attract more victims. Can any party to stop their business and stop them hurting further to the public.
ReplyDeleteI hv a bad experience with this shop. They came to my house and checked my washing machine. I was told on the spot repair cost is below rm500, they took the washing machine back to their shop and repair. They requested rm150 deposit to repair the washing machine and i agreed to pay to them. After 5 5 days, they called me and told me the washing machine need another parts to replace. Total repair cost rm1100. I disagreed with the repair cost. They said they will send back the washing machine to me and forfited my rm150 deposit. I agreed on that. The worst part of the shop was, they delivered the washing machine without my confirmation and i was not at home. They left my wshing machine outside my house gate under the sun and rain. This is really irresponsible shop and the owner was super unfriendly. He scold me and said is not their responsible to make sure customer is at home or not. THIS KAWAN SHOP IS REALLY A BIG SCAM. AFTER THIS INCIDENT, I CHECKED MANY BAD REVIEWS ON THIS SHOP
